RENO — The Silver Legacy Resort Casino on Monday announced the release of a new iPhone application aimed at improving the overall guest experience.

The Silver Legacy iPhone app is free to download from the Apple Store and features interactivity and user options that Legacy administrators say are unique to the region.

“We felt it was the perfect time to take advantage of mobile technology,” said Chad Hallert, director of Internet marketing and e-commerce for Silver Legacy. “This app was created for two specific groups of users: those who use their mobile devices for research in place of their home PC and those who use it on site for up-to-the minute information and updates.”

Users will find the app is able to give them all the information the Silver Legacy website provides, with the ability to instantly make dinner reservations, buy concert tickets and take virtual tours of their rooms before making reservations. It also directly links to social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

GPS features also make the Silver Legacy iPhone app handy for those using their mobile devices on property. For example, guests will be able to pinpoint where they parked their car. Another GPS-sensitive feature will detect users’ locations and show them specials, menus and reservation options instantly if they are standing in front of one of the six restaurants on property. The app will show room details, let users take a virtual tour and give them the option to upgrade before checking in.

The app also has nightlife section to get detailed descriptions of the bars, clubs, concerts and promotions happening across downtown Reno. Companies also can upload speaker notes, meeting itineraries and group presentations for conference attendees to access straight from their iPhone.

Planned additions include Slot Search, scheduled for release in November. With this program, guests will be able to enter the name of their favorite slot machine and be given directions to its nearest location on the casino floor.
