The position is responsible for selling the Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe area a a convention destination and for achieving the sales targets and objectives for the RSCVA.
The position is based in Maryland. Johnson’s territory will include Virginia, Maryland, the entire northeast, as well as specialty markets including the religious and ethnic markets. The position will report to the vice president of convention sales. Her first day on the job is Aug. 23.
“Johnson is an experienced sales professional that has diverse experience generating a variety of association bookings,” said Ellen Oppenheim, RSCVA president and CEO. “She brings valuable sales experience to the position and will play an integral role in positioning northern Nevada for more group sales and convention business to the destination from the northeast.”
Prior to accepting this position, Johnson has worked as the senior national sales director for NYC & Company: senior account executive for the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center: national account executive for Marriott International, Inc.; and associate director of sales for the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Hotel.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Howard University and is a Certified Association Sales Executive (CASE).
