The Nevada State Board of Accountancy protects the interests of the public by requiring that persons who are engaged in the practice of public accounting be qualified, so that the auditing, examining, reviewing and compiling of financial statements and the issuing of reports, opinions and assurances relating to those statements are reserved to those who have demonstrated an ability to observe the standards of the profession of accounting.
O’Carroll has been with Kafoury Armstrong since 1976 and was the first woman in the firm elected to shareholder status. She practices primarily in the areas of governmental auditing, not-for-profit auditing and individual income taxation. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Finance Officers Association.
A licensed CPA in Nevada, O’Carroll earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNR with an emphasis in accounting. She also holds a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University.
