RENO — Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a sexual assault that occurred Tuesday night in the hills above Lemmon Valley.
Detectives discovered that the victim, a 25-year-old female resident of Reno, met the suspect about one week prior.
Richard Scott Echols, 23, of Lemmon Valley invited the victim to a party near the Lem-mon Valley radio towers. Echols allegedly separated the victim from the group and sexually assaulted her.
Investigators were able to collect enough evidence to arrest Echols, who was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on Wednesday. He is charged with sexual assault and violating probation. His bail is set at $15,000.
