RENO – Terri Hendry has been named director of communications for Renown Health. In her new position, she will manage the internal and external communications for the health care network.

A familiar face in northern Nevada, Hendry was a broadcaster for more than 16 years in the local media and served as an anchor at the area’s ABC affiliate, KOLO Channel 8. In 2005, she was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasting Hall of Fame. She also earned Nevada Press Association Anchor of the Year and was Emmy nominated for feature reporting.

Hendry joins Renown from the city of Reno where she worked as the strategic communications program manager for nearly five years. There she supported crisis communications and guided media relations, community relations and events.

She has deep roots in the community and has served on several nonprofit boards including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Care Chest of Northern Nevada and the Reno-Tahoe Blues Festival.

Hendry is married to Mark Lewis, CEO of the development consulting company Mark Lewis & Partners. They have three adult children: Taylor, Ben and Anna.
