Ann Rhoades teaches how to build a strong service culture

RENO — At this month’s Western Industrial Nevada (WIN) breakfast, Ann Rhoades will share her insights about improving a company’s bottom line by developing great internal and external customer service.  

Rhoades is the former vice president of people at Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways and will talk about creating people-centric cultures.

Rhoades will present, “Creating an Outstanding Service Culture — How Some of the Best Have Done It,” today at 7 a.m. at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino.

“We are excited to have a visionary like Ann Rhoades talk about her creative approach to improving customer service,” said Nancy McCormick, vice president of programs for WIN.  “Ann is truly obsessed with customer service and will have some great insights to share with the WIN audience.”

Rhoades’ presentation will focus on how different companies have been successful by making customer service a priority. During her presentation, she will discuss her experience in building strong service cultures at Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways by constantly engaging employees in the decision-making process and having leaders who exemplify the core values of the company.

With more than 25 years experience in a variety of service-based industries, Rhoades is a popular speaker on the subject of customer service and how to build a strong service culture. Rhoades was vice president of the Southwest Airlines’ People Department, executive vice president of Team Services for Promus Hotel Corp. and, most recently, the executive vice president of people for JetBlue Airways. She is also the co-founder and CEO of CareLeaders Corp., a company dedicated to helping hospitals attain a new level of performance, and president of People Ink, her human resources consulting company.

WIN provides networking with more than 550 northern Nevada community and business leaders with a minimal time commitment to its members.  WIN’s goal is to create an open forum for networking and the sharing of ideas, among northern Nevada’s professional community.  WIN holds monthly breakfast meetings generally on the last Friday of every month at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino beginning at 7 a.m.
