RENO — Phone book recycling ends on Dec. 31, so make sure to recycle old, outdated AT&T Real Yellow Pages at area Scolari’s, Sak ‘N Save, Waste Management Recycle America and AT&T offices or with curbside recyclables.
AT&T and the Arbor Day Foundation will donate trees to area parks when they are recycled at select Reno, Sparks and Washoe County park locations.
Washoe County drop-off sites: Bartley Ranch Regional Park; Lazy 5 Regional Park; North Valleys Sports Complex; Rancho San Rafael Park; South Valleys Library; and the Sun Valley Community Park.
Reno drop-off sites: Fire Station #14; Neil Road Recreation Center; Northwest Pool; Reno Tennis Center; and the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center.
Sparks drop-off sites: Alf Sorensen Community Center; Sparks Parks and Recreation; Sparks Marina; Sparks City Hall; and Fire Station #5.
For every 355 phone books recycled, 6,953 gallons of water, 463 gallons of oil and enough landfill space to occupy a Volkswagen Beetle are saved, according to statistics gathered by AT&T Real Yellow Pages.
This is the 19th annual phone book recycling effort coordinated by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, Scolari’s Food & Drug Company, AT&T Real Yellow Pages and Waste Management Recycle America.
