Evergreen Terrace has been together for nearly a decade and has put out six albums, the most recent of which, “Almost Home,” was released in September. The group’s style is a combination of melodic hardcore, metal and punk-rock music.
Hailing from Jacksonville, Fla., Evergreen Terrace is made up of guitar player and vocalist Craig Chaney, lead singer Andrew Carey and drummer Kyle Mims. Guitarist and vocalist Josh James rounds out the band. Evergreen Terrace is currently on tour promoting their new album and has previously been a part of Sounds of the Underground and Vans Warped Tour.
Us, You, and Them, who just finished recording a three-song EP, will be one of the bands opening for Evergreen Terrace.
“A lot of bands try to be super technical, but we just take metal and have fun with it,” lead singer Mike Curatello said.
Curatello said the band’s influences include AC/DC, Deftones and Pantera. Along with Curatello, Andrew Aguirre is on the guitar, Brian Walden plays the drums, John Middleman plays the bass and does backup vocals and Larry Coleman is the lead guitarist.
This is the first time the band has recorded after being together for about a year and a half, and Curatello hopes their three-song EP will get picked up by a record label.
“A friend of ours is a music engineer and brought everything to our rehearsal space and we were able to just record there,” Curatello said. “It’s cool, too, because it was the first time Andrew has recorded.
“There are going to be a lot of different styles and it should be a good time,” Curatello said of Friday’s Hellaween show.
Tickets for Hellaween are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at www.inticketing.com. Vixens is located at 906 Victorian Ave. in Sparks. The show starts at 7 p.m.
