SPARKS — Local trick-or-treaters age 12 and younger are invited to Reed High School’s annual Safe Harbor event today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free to the public but canned food donations will be accepted at the entrance.

This year’s event boasts 30 student-run booths of candy, games and other Halloween activities. Each year, Reed’s leadership and student council programs put on this event with help from from Reed’s other clubs, organizations and sports teams. Attendees will also be able to take Halloween-themed pictures and see a live performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” by Reed’s Intermezzo choir.

For additional information on Safe Harbor, contact Roni Green, leadership advisor, at rsgreen@washoe.k12.nv.us.

On Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m., families are invited to attend the second annual Wildcreek Safe Trick-or-Treat. Kids are welcome to trick-or-treat throughout the business complex. Each participating business’ front door and exterior will be decorated for Halloween and clearly marked. In addition to trick-or-treating, families will enjoy pumpkin decorating, costume contests and Halloween-themed games.

The Wildcreek Safe Trick-or-Treat celebration was created by Family First Chiropractic. Various businesses throughout the entire complex will be participating.

The Wildcreek Business Complex is located at 2115 Green Vista Drive in Sparks. Admission is free.
