The Sparks Tribune, in conjunction with the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, is giving away pairs of tickets to the first 10 people to correctly answer a Shakespeare trivia question.
There will be a new question every Thursday through Aug. 13 and winners will be notified by e-mail on the following Friday.
The venue at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe will host Latin funk artist Omar Alexander on Monday and violinist Karen Briggs on Aug. 17.
This week’s question is:
William Shakespeare’s theater company built the Globe Theater in London in 1599. Much like the characters in Shakespeare’s plays, the theater itself had a very tumultuous and twisted fate. It burned down in June 1613, was rebuilt by 1614 and closed in 1642 due to religious conflict over the plays being performed at the theater.
The theater’s motto, which is used in the play “As You Like It,” is just as famous as the plays performed there. What is the Globe Theater’s motto? In its original Latin and English, please.
E-mail the answer to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your first and last name, e-mail address and phone number (just in case). All entries must be received Friday by 12 noon. Winners will be notified Friday afternoon and their tickets can be picked up Monday before the concert at will call at Sand Harbor on Highway 28.
If you won last week, please give someone else a chance to win.
