The first robbery occurred on the night of June 9 at the Silver State Shopping Center. A woman was leaving work at the center and was approached by a man once she got to her car. The man pulled a knife and demanded money. When the woman did not produce any money, the man forced her into her truck and she drove to the nearby Wells Fargo ATM where she withdrew money from her bank account.
Police have security images of the man retrieving the cash from the ATM, but a heavy hood concealed his figure.
The suspect is described as an Asian or Hispanic male adult in his 20s, 5-foot 7-inches to 5-feet 8-inches tall, medium build, clean shaven with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a brown or tan “hoodie” type jacket and white-and-brown plaid shorts.
A second knifepoint robbery involving a similar suspect happened on July 17 at the nearby Waterford apartment complex.
A little after 8 p.m., the victim noticed the suspect after she left work in the Silver State Shopping Center. The suspect was sitting on a bench when she came out of work, according to the victim. The woman continued south toward her apartment at 800 Nichols Blvd. and entered the complex through the north gate, which is adjacent to the shopping center. Once in the apartment complex, the suspect approached the victim, produced a knife and demanded money. Police say the robbery was interrupted when a neighbor came out, spooking the man. The suspect then fled the area.
At this robbery, the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light grey sweatpants with writing down the leg.
