Sparks Police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with several weeks of lewdness complaints by women in the area.

Shaine Carrara, 33, of Reno, was arrested in the parking lot of Wild Waters when a police officer caught him masturbating in his car. Sparks Police Department had been receiving complaints for several weeks about an aggressive male following females in shopping centers and gym parking lots. Some witnesses suspected that the male was masturbating while watching women in these locations after following them to their vehicles.

With the information provided by witnesses, the suspect was subsequently identified as Carrara.

On Tuesday, the Crime Suppression Unit followed Carrara after he got off work. They followed him to Wild Waters where undercover detectives observed Carrara circle the parking lot, seemingly looking for female victims. Carrara was seen watching a mother and her three children leaving the park. An undercover detective walked by Carrara's vehicle and observed Carrara masturbating. Carrara was immediately arrested.

Carrara was driving a maroon GMC Sonoma pick-up with an oversized maroon camper shell. The Crime Suppression Unit would like to speak with anyone who has seen this vehicle involved in similar activities.
