SALT LAKE CITY - The Reno Aces led early, but saw the Salt Lake Bees score in four-straight innings to capture the 8-3 victory Sunday afternoon at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Reno jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and led 3-1 through 3 1⁄2 frames. Salt Lake pushed across a run in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth and one more in the sixth, though, to even the series at two games apiece.

Aces starter Tony Barnette (3-5) was pinned with the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits over five innings of work. Barnette walked one and punched out six. Out of the Reno bullpen, Jon Coutlangus allowed a run in two innings before Abe Woody tossed a scoreless eighth.

The win went to Bees starter Brad Knox (4-2), who allowed three runs-just one earned-over 7 2-3 innings of work. Knox issued three free passes and didn't strike out a batter.

The Aces offense was limited to five hits on Sunday, with catcher John Hester collecting two. Alex Romero drove in a run, but was held hitless, snapping his team-high 12-game hitting streak.

The rubber game of the series is set for Monday at Spring Mobile Ballpark. The Aces turn to RHP Seth Etherton (4-4, 6.00 ERA), while the Bees are set to counter with RHP Kelvim Escobar (0-0, No ERA), pitching on a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment. First pitch is set for 6:20 p.m. PT and the action can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM.
