Sparks Public Works will be conducting controlled burning in the area of Lacerta Drive and Desert Fox Drive. This burning is necessary to clear floodway ditches and other drainage waterways.

Private property owners are conducting controlled burning in the 2700 block of Spanish Springs Road. This burning is necessary to clear agriculture irrigation ditches.

Smoke in these areas most likely will be from these controlled burns. Should someone notice one of these fires burning out of control or without a person present, the city asks that they call the fire department.
