RENO — The deadline to apply for several of Washoe County’s new volunteer Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) has been extended to Sept. 30. The primary purpose of the CABs, which represent all five commission districts of the community, is to connect residents with county government to share ideas, solutions and identify concerns.

Applications for the following Washoe County CAB areas have been extended to Sept. 30: East Truckee Canyon, Spanish Springs, North Valleys, Sun Valley, Verdi Township and Warm Springs/Rural.

Applicants will be selected by Commissioners in October and will be followed by a required CAB training. All applicants must reside within their CAB boundaries and be registered voters (if eligible) in Washoe County. To view the new Citizen Advisory Board boundaries, download the Citizen Advisory Board map.

Applications are available online and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sept. 30 by one of the following methods: email; fax 328-2037 Attn: CAB Program; mail Citizen Advisory Board Program, Manager’s Office, P.O. Box 11130 Reno, Nevada 89520.
