The Resort at Red Hawk announced plans last week for its summer junior golf program.

The club will offer three month-long sessions (June, July and August), each consisting of four classes.

Hawks and Falcons classes are aimed at teaching beginning to intermediate juniors the fundamentals of the game. Instruction will consist of grip, stance, posture, full swing, chipping and putting. It is also aimed at introducing youths to playing on the course with on-course instruction, rules and etiquette.

Hawks classes, ages 6-10, are scheduled for Wednesdays from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Falcons classes, ages 10-14, will follow on Wednesdays from 5-6:15 p.m.

Eagles classes are for intermediate to advanced level youth golfers. Those will be held on Fridays from 5-7 p.m. The Eagles class is aimed at taking more experienced junior golfers out on the golf course to get them ready for junior golf tournaments and high school golf. Instruction will consist of one hour of driving range/putting green work and one hour on the golf course.

Classes will be limited to a 6-to-1 teacher-to-golfer ratio.

Session fees are $100 for Hawks and Falcons and $150 for Eagles.
