RENO — The Eldorado Hotel Casino has hired celebrity chef Robert Hesse. Guests can find Chef Hesse in the kitchen at The Brew Brothers where he’s already putting his stamp on the hand tossed wood fired pizza menu. Chef Hesse has amassed a wealth of experience cooking in numerous kitchens across the country, including “Hell’s Kitchen,” FOX’s cooking reality show with fiery chef Gordon Ramsay.

Chef Hesse was inspired to cook by watching his grandmother and mother in the kitchen as a boy growing up in Long Island, NY, but he only fully realized it was what he wanted to for the rest of his life after attending an outdoor program for troubled youth called the Eckerd Academy in Brooksville, Fla.

Following his Eckerd Academy experience he went on to take his dream to the next level. After receiving his degree in Culinary Arts, Hesse toured the country, working at various hotels and resorts under some well-known chefs, sharpening his kitchen skills in the process.

In 2005, Robert returned home to New York as the executive chef of Q Restaurant in Quogue, NY. Hesse then brought his "Strong Island" street-honed personality to the hit FOX reality show, "Hell's Kitchen" and into the hearts of America as season five's overwhelming fan favorite. A health issue forced Hesse to make an early exit from the show, but he was brought back for season six after an outpouring of support from fans and from host Gordon Ramsey.

After “Hell’s Kitchen,” Hesse enjoyed catering to numerous celebrities including Mariah Carey, Sting and the New York Yankees and as the event chef for The Playboy Mansion.

The Eldorado is home to nine award-winning restaurants. For more information, call the Eldorado at 786-5700 or visit www.eldoradoreno.com.
