RENO — On March 23, Reno residents lined up for a free child or infant safety seat check at REMSA’s Point of Impact program’s monthly checkpoint. Three out of four car seats are incorrectly installed, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Reno Allstate Exclusive Agency Owner Ramie Pratt hosted to the event to help reverse that statistic.

“It was a fun event where I was able to directly help the community by ensuring their children’s car seats are properly installed,” Pratt said. “By attending the REMSA Checkpoint with Allstate, local Reno families have the piece of mind that their children are safe while in the car.”

REMSA hosts free child seat checks each month through its Point of Impact program and as the lead agency for Safe Kids Washoe County. Last year, REMSA checked more than 2,000 child seats in an effort to educate parents and make children safer. For additional checkpoint dates and locations, call 858-KIDS.

“It is important to ensure that our community’s children are safe, and our partnership with Allstate allows us to carry out our safety and educational mission,” said Vickie Fisher, REMSA’s Point of Impact program coordinator. “Thanks to partnerships like this, we can continue to make children safer in the Reno community.”
