Christmas show auditions on Sunday

Local dancer Karen Burns is putting on a classic Christmas show at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in December and is casting performers of various ages, dancers with limited singing and singers.

The auditions will be held Sunday at Fascinating Rhythm School of Performing Arts, 9736 South Virginia St. #E in Reno.

Successful performers will have a professional attitude along with personality plus and a passion for performing

Sunday’s audition schedule is as follows:

10 to 10:45 a.m. — Doors open for sign-in and warm-up for 5- to 12-year-old dancer/singers.

11 a.m. — Casting four to six children for Christmas Show. Must be able to dance in ensemble pieces and do limited singing.

12 to 12:45 p.m. — Doors open for sign-in and warm-up for 13- to 17-year-old dancer/singers.

1 p.m. — Casting four to six students for Christmas Show. Must be able to dance in ensemble pieces and do limited singing.

2 to 2:45 p.m. — Doors open for sign-in and warm-up for 18-and-older dancers and dancer/singers:

3 p.m. — Casting four to six female and two to four male performers for Christmas show (requires limited singing) plus seeking dancers for other events (no singing required). Females: Minimum height 5’4”, maximum costume size 8 or smaller. Males: minimum height 5’6” and fit small to medium costume with jacket sizes 36 to 42.

4 to 4:45 p.m. — Doors open for sign-in and warm-up for 18-and-older singers

5 p.m. — Casting one female and one male principal singer for Christmas Show and principal singers for other events (some choreographed movement). Prepare two acappella songs: 16 bars of “Let It Snow” plus 16 bars song of your choice.

• Bring current photo and resume.

• Wear appropriate audition/dance attire and shoes. Dress to impress; no baggy clothing.

• All applicants must have training and/or performing experience plus be physically fit.

• Show choreography will be taught to all applicants.

• Applicants under 18 years of age must have a parent present to sign audition release.

• Applicants under 16 years of age must have a parent remain on premises throughout the audition.
