The 2012/2013 Know the Code program and AQMD notified Washoe County residents of 23 Yellow and 5 Red Burn Code occurrences this season. In particular, January’s stagnant weather conditions contributed to cold temperatures, calm winds, and elevated fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentrations.
