With over 110 locations in five Western states — many of which are in smaller towns — it was time for the Oakhurst, Calif.-based restaurant to branch out to larger residential areas.
Mike and Terri Sanchez opened up a new location in Spanish Springs in early December — their third Pizza Factory franchise. It is located in the same shopping center as the Bully’s on Pyramid Way.
The Sanchez family moved to Spanish Springs two years ago and instantly fell in love with the area. But with franchises in Hawthorne and Silver Springs, they wanted a restaurant closer to their home.
“We love it. We lived in Susanville for 16 years and wished we would have moved over here sooner,” Mike said. “We’re in it for the long haul.”
Pizza Factory offers daily specials from a menu of pizza, calzones, sandwiches, a salad bar and appetizers. The Spanish Springs location has beer and wine on tap. But the thing that makes Pizza Factory stand out is the dough.
“Our dough is hand-tossed and made fresh everyday,” Mike said. “We make our pizza sauce, our own lasagna and meatballs. Our vegetables are cut fresh daily.
“I think our product is up there with the best.”
“Pizza Factory has a good name quality. They have been around since 1979,” Terri said.
Romy Arguello is one of those people who trekked to Carson City to enjoy Pizza Factory pizza and now she is hooked.
“They use the best ingredients and their dough is awesome. It’s a beautiful, clean restaurant and I can’t wait to see them become part of the community. I know they’re going to be big,” Arguello said. “I actually went out of my way to Carson City in order to try it out for the first time, and I was like ‘Oh my God it’s the best pizza ever.’ I’ve had all kinds of pizza in Sparks. I’m a 30-year resident. I’ve got to say it’s the best tasting pizza in Sparks.”
Pizza Factory offers dine-in, take-out and delivery. There is also a plan to expand the dining area, which will offer more seating, televisions and video games. Construction is expected to take three weeks once it begins. Terri said they hope to put together some birthday packages for customers.
Pizza Factory is very involved with the community. The corporate office started a “No Bully Zone” campaign in schools.
Mike and Terri Sanchez also plan to become involved in the local community. Pizza Factory is a sponsor for the upcoming Walk MS and will also be involved in the area’s youth sports leagues.
“Our goal is to help the community anyway we can,” Mike said.
The Spanish Springs location is open from 11-9 and during the summer it will close at 10 p.m.
