"The kids battled like warriors. They made adjustments and in the second half played Spanish Springs basketball," SSHS boys basketball coach Kyle Penney said. "The bench players stepped up getting timely charges, scores, rebounds and steals."
TJ McCauley led the way, scoring 21 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Kenny Meyer added 16 points and six assists to help Spanish Springs improve to 10-4 on the season.
The Cougars are back in action Thursday when it travels to Bishop Manogue for a crossover league affair at 7 p.m.
