The Cougars improved to 3-0 on the young season after dumping the suburban Sacramento school on its home floor.
Spanish Springs jumped out to a 14-6 lead after one period. Roseville hung around for a while. The hosts trimmed the SSHS hoopsters lead to six, 24-18, midway through the second period. They never got that close again. The visiting Cougars ripped off a 10-0 spurt to close out the first half.
Anderson scored 11 of her game-high point total in the Cougars’ 20-point second quarter.
Spanish Springs guard Riley Holladay chipped in 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds to help the Sparks school’s winning cause.
The Cougars extended their lead to as much as 30 in the fourth quarter before settling for the 23-point win.
Spanish Springs returns to action Tuesday night when it hosts North Valleys in a High Desert League contest at 5:15 p.m.
