Tribune photo by Garrett Valenzuela -- Thousands of people made their way out of the Scheels parking lot and trekked up Sparks Boulevard on their way to the finish line of the annual Turkey Trot hosted by Scheels.
Proceeds from the Turkey Trot go to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful to fund beautification projects around the region. The more than 2,100 entries was the most ever in Turkey Trot history.
Participants were clad in their commemorative Turkey Trot sweatshirts as they enjoyed post-race refreshments at The Legends at Sparks Marina.
