RENO — The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority has launched the “Reno Needs A Superhero” campaign to raise awareness among, and to offer assistance to, local residents who belong to national organizations, regarding the important role they can play in attracting meetings and conventions to Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe.

The RSCVA is asking locals to contact the agency to discuss bringing their national convention to Reno, Sparks or North Lake Tahoe. The sales team at the RSCVA promises that their team of professionals will work directly with the organization to ensure that every last detail is handled with care and efficiency, maximizing the likelihood of success for everyone involved.

According to the Convention Industry Council, meetings and conventions are a $260 billion industry. By giving locals an avenue to easily help bring their professional or trade association meetings to Reno-Tahoe, the RSCVA is allowing those individuals to direct some of those billions of convention dollars into their own community.

Local “Superheroes” will be recognized throughout the Reno-Tahoe community with a spot on the “Wall of Fame,” a recognition event with Mayors and area business leaders, and a donation made on their behalf to the charity of their choice.
