Records show that William Ferguson has been held at the Clark County jail since Aug. 19 on burglary and theft charges.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Ferguson now also faces an indictment stemming from the theft of $29,000 in chips from the MGM Grand, Rio, Treasure Island and LVH casinos.
A state court judge set bail Wednesday at $500,000.
Prosecutor Noreen DeMonte says Ferguson worked with an accomplice. While one distracted the dealer, the other grabbed chips and fled.
The Review-Journal reports that authorities have recovered $80,000 of nearly $179,000 in chips they think Ferguson has stolen from various casinos.
