RENO — Police say a 54-year-old Reno man died when his motorcycle hit the front of a FedEx truck at about 8 a.m. Friday.

Investigators say Timothy Randolph was traveling east on Parr Boulevard and tried to stop for a FedEx truck that was pulling out of a private driveway.

Randolph apparently lost control of his motorcycle and struck the front of the truck.

Officers from the Reno Police Department responded with assistance from the Reno Fire Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and REMSA.

The victim was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center where he died. The driver of the FedEx truck was not injured.

With the warm weather, the Reno police would like to remind citizens to use extra caution while driving because of the increased number of motorcycle enthusiast sharing the roadway.

Here are some safety tips to consider:

• Because of its small size, a motorcycle may look farther away than it is.

• It may also be difficult to judge a motorcycle’s speed.

• When checking traffic to turn at an intersection or into or out of a driveway, keep in mind that a motorcycle may be closer than it appears.

The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the accident. Anyone with information can contact the Reno Police Department Traffic Division at 334-2141 or Secret Witness at 322-4900, or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) keyword “SW.”
