RENO — Police have detained the suspect involved in a shooting Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Patriot Boulevard.

The shooting was reported at about 8:10 a.m. when Reno police officers responded and located a man in the area of the clubhouse with multiple gunshot injuries. The 26-year-old Reno man was able to give officers a name and description of the person who shot him before being transported to a local hospital.

At about 9:30 a.m. the suspect called the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and told them he had been involved in a shooting in Reno. Their deputies and detectives met with the suspect and waited with him until RPD Detectives arrived. There are no known outstanding suspects or vehicles.

Through interviews with the involved parties and witnesses it was determined the suspect shot the victim multiple times over narcotics transactions.

The victim is being treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The defendant was booked into the Washoe County Jail and is being held without bail.
