RENO — The Reno Bike Project will be hosting the region’s only bike swap at the Barbara Bennett Park basketball courts during the Mighty Tour De Nez bike race from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be great deals on bikes of all varieties. Vendors will be selling gently used and new bikes. The public is also is welcome to come and drop off their own bicycles to sell for a 20 percent consignment fee that goes to benefit the Reno Bike Project’s education, advocacy and outreach programs. If you’re looking for a new bike to get out and enjoy Reno’s beautiful summer weather, this bike swap is the place to look for awesome bikes at affordable prices.

The Reno Bike Project is a nonprofit community bicycle shop and advocacy group committed to creating a nationally recognized, cycling-friendly community in the Truckee Meadows. Since 2006, the bike project has worked through advocacy, education and cooperation to increase enthusiasm about bicycling as a positive lifestyle and transportation alternative. The organization is built around the belief that the bicycle is the world’s greatest, most utilized mode of transportation and that every individual, regardless of age, gender, race, or class has a right to afford, maintain and enjoy one.
