SPARKS — Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects in the attempted robbery of a woman in the area of El Rancho Drive and Capurro Way.

At about 3 a.m. Saturday, a woman was walking to her car when she was approached by a man who knocked her to the ground, punched and kicked her numerous times, according to police. The attacker fled eastbound on Capurro. The woman said there might have been another suspect in the area at the time of the incident. The victim was transported to Renown

Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male adult with a thin build, wearing baggy oversized clothing described as a white T-shirt and blue jeans. A similar suspect was described by the victim of an attack that occurred several blocks away a few hours earlier. At about 9:30 p.m. Friday, a man walking near the 7-Eleven store at 1260 El Rancho Drive said he was approached by two men who threatened to shoot him if he did not hand over his money. The man tried to run but one of the robbers hit him in the face, breaking a tooth and cutting his lips. The attacker was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall with a muscular build and a goatee, last seen wearing a grey shirt and blue pants. The second suspect matched the description of the white man with baggy clothes from the later robbery try.

Police are still investigating whether the two crimes are related.

Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to contact Sparks Police detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
