Casino workers help stab victim

SPARKS — Police are looking for a Latino man suspected of stabbing another man who tried to break up a fight.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, an officer was investigating an unrelated incident at Rail City Casino when a security guard told him there was a man suffering from multiple stab wounds at the cashier’s cage.

During the investigation, it was learned that the victim was trying to stop an altercation in the area of 21st Street and Victorian Avenue outside the Oasis Nightclub when he was stabbed repeatedly by an unidentified Latino. The Oasis Nightclub is located at 2100 Victorian Ave.

The male suspect is described as being approximately 6 feet tall and 230 pounds with a military-style haircut. His approximate age is his late 20s to early 30s. At the time of the incident he was wearing a tight-fitting black shirt and dark blue jeans. He was seen leaving the area with another Latino male.

The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Sparks Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Sparks Police Detectives or provide information through Secret Witness at 322-4900. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect in this case.
