RENO — Vanessa Head, 24, and her two children, Michael Scanlon, 2, and Lilly Scanlon, 10 months, were found safe Tuesday in Sacramento, Calif., after a missing persons report was filed Saturday.

With the assistance of Secret Witness, Sparks police detectives were able to establish communication with Head, who was found to be voluntarily in Sacramento with her children staying with an acquaintance. Sacramento police officers were able to make contact with Head and her children and confirm they were all safe. Head’s mother travelled to Sacramento and brought the children back to the Reno area. Head opted to stay in Sacramento and is not in any danger at this time.

Head and the two children had previously last been seen between 2 and 3 p.m. July 8 in the 1400 block of North O’Brien Way, according to a statement from Sparks police sent Sunday. Family said she was going to meet a new boyfriend she met online.
