RENO — Secret Witness is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with thefts of Honda cars, motorcycles, mopeds and scooters in Reno.

Since May 18, 2012, there have been more than 20 stolen Honda cars throughout the city. The suspects are targeting 1990s and early 2000s Hondas due to the ease of making a filed down key to gain access and start the vehicles. The suspects are taking valuables from inside the vehicles and then dumping the vehicles in other locations.

Since the warmer weather has arrived, there has been an increase in the thefts of motorcycles, mopeds and scooters, police said. An average of four or five are stolen weekly. Many of the thefts are close to the downtown area. Often these vehicles are parked outside of businesses and little or no security measures are taken to secure them.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s). Anyone having information relating to these crimes or the suspect(s) should contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2133, or Secret Witness at 322-4900, report online at or text to tip number 847411 (Tip 411) keyword “SW.”
