RENO — Secret Witness has increased the rewards for information in two separate incidents.

A $2,500 reward now is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with the suspicious death of a 17-year-old male victim.

The shooting occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of the 2000 block of Centennial Way. A witness told police that the victim left the apartment and returned a few minutes later stating that he had been shot and then collapsed. The Reno resident was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

A $2,500 reward also is being offered in the hit-and-run death of Eric Thomas, a 44-year-old Reno resident killed Saturday when the moped he was riding was hit from behind by an SUV that then fled the area.

The vehicle is described as most likely a Toyota 4-Runner or Tacoma with a camper shell, made between 2003 and 2009. The vehicle is “galactic grey mica” and will have damage around its passenger side headlight assembly and the top of the hood.

Thomas was taken to Renown Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Anyone having information relating to these crimes or the suspects should contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2115, or Secret Witness at 322-4900, report online at or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) keyword “SW.”
