RENO — Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the driver of an SUV who hit a moped on Saturday. The moped driver later died of his injuries.

The moped was traveling west in the bike lane along N. McCarran Boulevard at Northtowne Lane when it was hit from behind by a person driving a silver or gray mid-sized SUV — possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to police. The moped was was carried several hundred feet. The SUV drove away westbound toward U.S. 395, police said.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
