Police conducted the undercover operation in midtown, which has recently gone through a major redevelopment and several new businesses have moved into the area creating more vehicular and pedestrian traffic there. The majority of citations and warnings were for drivers failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. One driver was arrested due to having six outstanding warrants.
The Reno Police Department Traffic Division encourages operators of motor vehicles to slow down so they can see pedestrians. Police also encourage pedestrians to make sure it safe to cross the street before entering the roadway.
