SPARKS — Sparks High School has reopened after being locked down from 9:30 to 11:06 a.m. this morning, according to Sparks Police Department dispatchers.
Police officers locked the school and would not allow anyone to leave the campus as they searched a nearby apartment building for a suspect who was thought to be "armed and dangerous."
The suspect had a warrant out for his arrest and police were tipped off that he was nearby the high school, but after checking police were unable to locate the man.
"He was not in the apartment we were told he was in," the dispatcher said.
After the search, the high school was reopened at 11:06 a.m.
