RENO — About 100 seventh-graders planted new flowers, fruit trees and vegetable plants on Tuesday at Depoali Middle School on Wilbur May Parkway to support the school garden project, which was launched last spring.

All of the materials were donated by Home Depot and The Scotts Company, which sent representatives to work with the students.

Depoali Middle School was built in 2009 with a number of environmentally conscious features. The school has 373 ground-source heating wells buried 300 feet deep, cool roofing, heat-absorbing window glass and uses 100 percent reclaimed irrigation water.
