Registered tier III sex offender arrested

RENO — Friday detectives with the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU) and marshals with the United States Marshal Service (USMS) located and arrested a registered tier III sex offender who failed to notify local law enforcement of his whereabouts.

Theodore Arthur Larson, 78, was located living in the 1000 block of Harvard Way in Reno, which is not where he was last registered.  In addition, Larson moved to Oklahoma in December of 2011 without notifying authorities.  Larson was transported to the Washoe County Jail and booked for failing to change his address, a felony, with a bail of $5,000. 

Registered Sex Offenders are required to notify local law enforcement within 48 hours of changing residency per state law. If anyone has info about this offender, or any other offender, they are encourage to call the RSONU at 353-2244 or Secret Witness at 322-4900 or www.secretwitness.com.
