RENO — Two brothers from Fresno, Calif., are charged with pandering women for prostitution in Reno.

Reno police say 23-year-old Joe Goldsmith and 22-year-old Maurice Goldsmith were arrested Wednesday after the Regional Street Enforcement Team received information that two young women had been brought to Reno for prostitution.

Authorities say the women, ages 21 and 23, had met the brothers in Fresno. The Goldsmiths allegedly took the women to several cities in California to be prostitutes before coming to Reno, where one woman tried to get away but was physically forced into staying.

The women have been reunited with their families.

Police say an investigation is continuing.
