Rockabilly Riot at Grand Sierra

RENO — The Grand Sierra Resort will host Reno Rockabilly Riot No. 2, a traditional hot rod car show and music festival on Father’s Day weekend, June 15 through 17.

The weekend event will feature Taildraggers CC with a variety of activities, including a car show and the Most Rockabilly Tattoo Show hosted by last year’s Best of Show winners, The Pink Pearl.

The weekend is full of activities, including a special roller derby by the Reno Roller Girls, the Von Hot Pinstriping Circus, a pin-up contest, fastest mechanic, toilet seat races, drag races, live music and more. Retail sellers of collectable diecast cars as well as diecast car builders will introduce an ultra-collectable Reno Rockabilly diecast car with “A-Bomb” logo.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson, known for her rockabilly and country crossover sounds, kicks off the weekend of music on June 15 followed by Zeke and The Chop Tops, a punk rock band, on June 16. Both performances will be held in the Grand Theatre at 9 pm. Tickets can be purchased online or through the GSR box office.

Tickets to the event include $10 day passes for Friday, Saturday or Sunday; $35 weekend passes and include a T-shirt; and $50 all-access passes and include a T-shirt and show tickets for Zeke and The Chop Tops. All tickets are available online or through the GSR box office at 789-2000.
