Hot August Nights to host Spring Fever event Saturday

RENO — Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Hot August Nights will kick off the special events season in northern Nevada with its annual Spring Fever event. The event will feature a show ‘n’ shine, music, awards, food and Hot August Nights merchandise. All American or European cars or pick-up trucks 1972 or older are invited to join in on the fun. Attendees can purchase tickets for the 2012 Hot August Nights raffle car set to be awarded during the 26th annual event, Aug. 7 through 12.

Saturday’s event will take place in the parking lot located on the corner of South Virginia Street and Peckham Lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hot August Nights, a Sparks-based non-profit organization, holds one of the premiere classic car events in the world, annually drawing more than 800,000 spectators and participants to northern Nevada to revel in nostalgia, enjoy top entertainers from the 1950s and 1960s and participate in a variety of events including show ‘n’ shines, controlled cruises and more.
