RENO — Bishop Manogue’s Music Department announced Thursday that its annual Spring Concert featuring band, orchestra, choir and guitar students will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the main gym.
Admission is free, but students will be holding a bake sale and “passing the drum” to raise funds in support of Maddie Iroz. Maddie is a Bishop Manogue sophomore who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer. She has undergone surgery in San Francisco and doctors estimate that she will be unable to return to school for a full year while her condition is being treated with radiation and chemotherapy. Maddie plays the clarinet and Manogue band members came up with the idea of the bake sale to help the family defray travel costs and living expenses.
