After more than a century of use, the Virginia Street Bridge is showing signs of extreme wear and must be replaced to ensure continued public safety, according to a city statement. In partnership with the Truckee River Flood Management Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the city has initiated a plan to replace the bridge while preserving its history.
