Sparks police seek man in stabbing

SPARKS — Sparks police are seeking a white man in connection with the stabbing of an adult Hispanic man in the area of 16th Street and Gault Way that occurred at about 8:07 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the area when they discovered the Hispanic man on the ground, bleeding from a wound to his leg. The victim said he was returning from the store when he was confronted by a white male, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and black pants with a white scarf over his face.

The victim’s injury could be life threatening and he was reportedly in emergency surgery as of 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the fight between the suspect and the victim or may have seen the suspect leave the area, to call the Sparks Police Department Detectives Division at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
