Reno — With the introduction of a new case management system, called the “Odyssey System”, the Reno and Sparks Justice Courts now offer a variety of online services for the convenience of Washoe County residents.

The system, which underwent a rigorous and detailed process of selection, implementation and data conversion, was rolled out in early March.

The system is a robust application that will enable the courts to introduce electronic filings and online payments, as well as automate many time-consuming, labor-intensive business processes.

Once the core system is stabilized, the application will be distributed for use in the Incline Village and Wadsworth Justice Courts. The four courts will share a single database, which will provide a more comprehensive view of individuals’ judicial activities throughout the county.

No tax dollars were used to fund the Odyssey system or its enhancements. The system was funded entirely by Reno Justice Court’s administrative assessments, which are service fees charged to court users. The project will be completed under its established budget.
