RENO — The Nevada Humane Society wants to be your spring break destination by offering reduced adoption fees through Sunday.

Come to the shelter today from noon to 5 p.m. for some spring break fun with the kids. There will be refreshments, Dotty the Clown, face painting, balloon art, arts and crafts and, of course, lots of great cats, dogs and small animals to meet. Children who bring their parents also can decorate their own cupcakes and cookies.

“Spring break is the perfect time to adopt a new pet as families have more time to spend with the pet, introducing it to their new home and welcoming them to the family,” said Denise Stevens, operations director at NHS. “And you can feel great knowing that you helped save a life when you adopt from an animal shelter.”

Adult dogs can be adopted for $45 and adult cats for $10. All dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped so they are ready to go home with you. These services would normally cost more than $200.

The Nevada Humane Society is located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno. For more information, call 856-2000 or visit www.nevadahumanesociety.org.
