SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The first-ever Credit Union SacTown 10 Mile Run took place April 1 in downtown Sacramento, raising more than $140,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in California and Nevada, including Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno. The event was sponsored by CU Miracle Day, Inc. along with 64 credit unions and credit union businesses, including Carson City-based Greater Nevada Credit Union.

The SacTown race took place the same day as the 40th Annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-Mile Run in Washington D.C., followed by Credit Union Freedom Runs for troops overseas. The races raised a total of $515,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the nation.

Nearly 1,050 runners participated in the Sacramento race, which started and finished in front of the state capitol building, with a $15,000 prize purse awarded.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an alliance of children’s hospitals across North America that treat 17 million critically ill children annually‚ regardless of their ability to pay.
