RENO — What began as a backyard barbecue 32 years ago has evolved into one of the country’s single largest fundraising events for the protection and enhancement of Nevada’s wildlife resources.
The 32nd Annual Nevada Bighorns Unlimited (NBU) Fundraising Banquet was held Friday night at the Peppermill Resort and Casino.
More than 2,000 hunting and wildlife enthusiasts were expected to attend, including Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Nevada Sen. Dean Heller.
Each year, the funds generated by the annual banquet has allowed NBU to assist in the conservation, management and the reintroduction of desert, Rocky Mountain or California bighorn sheep in more than 60 mountain ranges in Nevada. For more information, www.nevadabighornsunlimited.org.
