RENO — The Grand Sierra Resort has just made it easier for gamers interested in playing a live action version of their favorite video game with Battlefield Live, a combat simulation game at Fun Quest.

Based on the same type of technology the military uses to train with, Battlefield Live is an indoor, team-based combat simulation game with a focus on achieving objectives.

Each team is provided a mission designed to encourage teamwork. Mission challenges are set to the players’ experience levels and help teammates communicate, overcome adversity together and gain a greater understanding of team cohesion.

Missions can vary from a simple team elimination match to more complex missions such as escorting a VIP to a safe zone or capturing an enemy base. There are more than 25 missions to choose from with new challenges being added on a regular basis.

The fun begins for players ranging in age from 10 to adult and is safe for varying degrees of difficulty. Battlefield uses an infra-red signal so there are no projectiles and all equipment is provided.

Scoring is based on team results not individual rankings making the game an option for corporate or any other form of team building.

Battlefield Live opens Friday. Hours of operation are noon to 10 p.m. daily. Cost is $10 per 15 minutes of game time which provides players enough time to complete two to three games depending on the selected missions.
